|My StoryWhen I think about a Leading Lady I think of my friend Bernadette Crockett Fox who passed away early this year. She was a wife, a mother, a business leader, and a great woman of faith. She was kind and gentle woman who had a zest for life. Bernadette was a Leading Lady.In 2011, it all began when I first invited 10 women to join me for a luncheon. I never knew that this would be the very beginning for new friendships and so much more. The luncheon was very moving, inspiring, and refreshing. It was a time for each us of to connect and we were all delighted to attend. This group quickly grew. It grew from ten, to twenty-five, to sixty-six, and now more than one hundred in a short period of time. Leading Ladies celebrate women everywhere who are working to make their community a better place to live. We are connected by either business, ministry, or community.|
|It was in April 2012, that we first revealed our best kept secret to our Leading Ladies. The surprise was a gift from my god-child and artist Sametria Hayes. Through my vision for the Leading Ladies, she had written a song titled “God’s Leading Ladies.” It is dedicated to my friend Bernadette and to all Leading Ladies everywhere. As a result of the great success of the song, we recently shot a music video in Clarksville about it. It will coming soon to YouTube. We were very blessed by the creative work of Mr. Anthony Taylor our video director who worked with us to bring the words of the song alive to the screen. He did it. We had many businesses to assist us with this great opportunity. We would like to especially thank Dillards, Shoney’s on N.2nd Street, Dominant Beauty Salon, Nicole McKeage, Catos Fashions, F&M Bank, James Corlew Cheverolet Cadillac, Celebration of Life Church, Pastor Yolanda Morgan, Sis. Servella Terry, Pastor Wess Morgan, Tracy Ryver, Austin Peay State University Foy Fitness Center, and everyone who did their part in making our video a great success. Keep checking our facebook under Convenient Shopper Magazine for our upcoming video release. We appreciate everyone who supported us in going to Michigan and special thanks to Janine Folks and the Women of Transition, Union Second Baptist Church, Yvonne Hill, my family, classmates, and friends.|
